Awesome = The Wonder Years.
I'm not sure if you guys know this, but that title is completely true. I've always been a fan of music you can jump around to and have fun. It's not too seriously but it's still hard-hitting. It's the kind of music that reminds me of times spent with friends. Definitely summer music. It's raw and Dan Campbell's vocals are rough yet I wouldn't want them any other way. It's a good rough, like rough sex. Former vocalist Mikey Kelly was pretty talented as well but I think that Campbell was a good replacement. Kelly is a little more punk I suppose but I think Campbell can do the rawness as well as the soft pop-ish stuff like "Hey Thanks". And what can I say? I am a complete sucker for songs that use the word 'fuck'. I can't help my vulgarity. =] But that's how I feel about life most of the time. "All I’ve got left are these handfuls of fuck you."
But don't let the vulgar language fool you. These guys are good dudes. Their latest album was The Upsides released on January 26th of this year and they promoted by asking people to tell them what the upsides to life were. "Fuck my life? Fuck that! Tell us about The Upsides!" A big theme of this album is that "I'm not sad anymore."
This song would be from their first full length album, Get Stoked On It. P.S. Awesome title. And I really enjoy their old stuff. Like most bands, the older stuff is always good. But surprisingly, their new stuff is good too. Which is hard to find with band when they put out new material. And they even have a different singer. It's hard for bands to transition to a new album, but doing it with a new singer as well and to still stick to their sound? Definitely hard. These guys are absolutely amazing. 'Nough said.
One of my favorite songs off of The Upsides is 'Washington State Park'. "I'm trying to play the b-side to this awkward life of mine." That pretty much defines my life. It's a great song and it's full of some powerful stuff. It a song that reminds me of my late teenage years. Not being an adult and just having fun.

But even though it's pop-punk band that says fuck a lot, they still have some soft moments. "Hey Thanks" is a cute song that I really enjoy and it's a nice little rest behind the fast tempo beats. And I also really love Rachel Minton pretty little parts in the song.
"Hey thanks for everything
For putting up with me when I get cranky
I know I'm such a pain
And yeah thanks for losing everything with me
The night we went to Atlantic City
Of course it had to rain
And you think that I'm angry
But I think that you're sad
We know it's not so bad
Here living the life we have
So hey thanks for not hating me
When I wake you up at eight in the morning
Because I lost the keys
And yeah thanks for staying in with me
I know you'd probably rather be out drinking
Than in with the TV"

With that said, "Keystone State Dude-Core" is definitely one of my favorite songs. I always enjoy songs about touring and what it's like to be in the band. And the friendships. The song is fast, fun, and rough. But like I said, good rough. And quick. Definitely a jumping and moshing song.
"We know the way that shit gets sometimes
With bank accounts empty
And gas prices too high.
We're pushing the van up snowy inclines
And dancing with cops on the Virginia road side.
We're banned for life from Ft. Eustis.
It doesn't make a difference.
The sound guy here's got shit against us.
We came here to do this.
We're six dudes from the keystone state.
We're broke as fuck, but we can't complain."

"I’m nailing shards of hope together
To put something over my head
Because you know here it’s always raining
And it happened again. It happened again
She said, “I let this slide when we were younger
You know you don’t have to write like this
The whole world’s full of losers
If you get a chance to win, take it"
To put something over my head
Because you know here it’s always raining

Another great song would be 'Melrose Diner'. It's a good song to relate to when it comes to an ex who you hate and miss at the same time. You may hate the person, but you're lonely and can you really do any better? That's this song for me. And I'm always up for a good song I can scream to in my car with a big fuck you to all the douche bags who broke my poor little heart time after time.
"I hate your bad tattoos and your second-hand stories;
those anecdotes that grew old last month.
I hate the way you move when you’re drunk and try dancing.
It’s not sexy.
It’s just keeping us up and I’m just not fond of anyone,
but that’s got everything to do with us."

Alright, so I've supplied you with SEVERAL reasons to listen to this band. They're pretty much awesome. Go check them out. They're getting ready to head to Europe in May but they will be back in the US in July. GO TO A SHOW!
How can you say no to these faces?
(And all the guys in the band have Twitter
as well so follow them too!
Well, except Matt... Let's work on that.)

Mooooovie.
I'm going to make a movie. Based on music. I mean, a musical. Fuckin' duh. It's, of course, going to be modern and it won't have original music. I'm not that talented. But I am very inspired. Listening to my iPod on shuffle tends to do that. I hear a song and I just see the movie unfolding in front of me. I really want this to happen. I want actually try at this unlike all the other things I ever do in my life. I just need some guidance slash help on making these inspirations reality. HELP.

Movie Review - We Live In Public
Woah. That's really all I have to say. This movie definitely opens your eyes to reality of how big and influential the Internet really is on society. Everyone loves to see people fail, oddly enough. And this movie definitely shows Josh Harris, the founder of Pseudo.com which was the first Internet television network, at his highest and lowest points in his life, all thanks to the Internet. But it was his own choice. The broadcast his life to the world and the complete lack of privacy to where he couldn't shit or masturbate without someone watching AND commenting on the matter was his downfall. This movie is completely interesting and terrifying at the same time. I highly recommend it. And since you read it on the Internet, it's true and you definitely have to do it. Here's a short synopsis to help you out in the decision-making process.
"Ten years in the making and culled from 5000 hours of footage, WE LIVE IN PUBLIC reveals the effect the web is having on our society, as seen through the eyes of “the greatest Internet pioneer you’ve never heard of”, artist, futurist and visionary Josh Harris. Award-winning director Ondi Timoner documented his tumultuous life for more than a decade to create a riveting, cautionary tale of what to expect as the virtual world inevitably takes control of our lives.
Harris, often called the “Warhol of the Web”, founded Pseudo.com, the first Internet television network during the infamous dot-com boom of the 1990s. He also curated and funded the ground breaking project “Quiet” in an underground bunker in NYC where over 100 people lived together on camera for 30 days at the turn of the millennium. With Quiet, Harris proved how we willingly trade our privacy for the connection and recognition we all deeply desire, but with every technological advancement such as MySpace, Facebook and Twitter, becomes more elusive. Through his experiments, including a six-month stint living with his girlfriend under 24-hour electronic surveillance which led to his mental collapse, Harris demonstrated the price we pay for living in public."
